On Foot
Country Walkers offers a six-day guided hiking adventure through the wooded paths of Vermont’s Green Mountains. Hikes range from easy to moderate and cover three to eight miles each day. The cycling specialists at Easy Rider host two six-day Autumn in the Berkshires bicycle tours October 5–10 and October 12–17. Both rides through the hills of western Massachusetts are challenging: Expect to complete between 98 and 222 miles over the course of the trip. The tours meet at Boston Logan Airport; stops along the route include the Norman Rockwell Museum, Hancock Shaker Village, and Gilded Age mansions built by wealthy Boston and New York aristocrats as summer escapes.
